NiFi Consulting Services
Four ways in, one technology.
What we do
Weirpath works on Apache NiFi flow estates that are already in production: the clusters that move records between agencies, claims systems, network gear, plants and warehouses, often built between 2017 and 2022 by engineers who have since moved on. Everything is billed hourly, as a project engagement or as staff augmentation.
NiFi Flow Estate Assessment
A structured review of the running estate: process groups, processors, controller services and custom NARs; removed, renamed and deprecated components; scripted components and XML templates; Java, OS and cluster readiness; throughput, back-pressure and provenance health. You get a written findings document and a sequenced plan with effort ranges in engineer-weeks.
NiFi 1 to NiFi 2 Migration
The upgrade itself: the staged path through the final 1.x release, XML templates converted into Registry-versioned flows, scripted components rewritten where their language was dropped, removed processors and controller services replaced, Java 21 and repository configuration, a parallel staging cluster, flow-by-flow testing and a production cutover with a rehearsed rollback.
Flow and Custom Processor Engineering
New and reworked dataflows: source and sink integration, record-oriented flows with a schema registry, custom processors and controller services in Java or the NiFi 2 Python API, parameter contexts, Registry-backed promotion between environments, secure site-to-site, and access policies for regulated environments.
Ongoing Flow Operations
Retained senior capacity after the migration: cluster tuning and capacity planning, back-pressure and queue incident triage, provenance and repository management, upgrades within the 2.x line, monitoring and alerting, documentation and handover, or an engineer embedded with your team while it is short-staffed.
Not sure which one fits? Most engagements start with an assessment or a conversation.
